In an effort to expand our projects into the nightclub scene and Live Entertainment, we created a series of video animations for the "Room Unplugged" night club. Our first video animation library, 26 loopable videos in total, was designed for the Hippotizer Media Server, the top media server application for displaying and mixing video animations. Our video animations with the help of the Hippotizer Media Server are projected and mixed every night onto a 40 sq.m. panel on the center wall of the club. This project also brought about our first meeting with the Division Team, who are the Hippotizer Media Server representatives in Greece. From the start, both teams immediately started sharing creative ideas that led to a night of positive brainstorming and ...drinking. We are Hippo... relatives after all!]]>

LIGBE came to us with a proposition that involved building a fully dynamic, CMS-driven E-magazine Framework. We designed a full Flash Framework that included the actual magazine container, its navigation and actions toolbar, the sidebar table of contents and magazine archive navigation and the user search and login functions. Within the magazine pages the framework builds each content using a pool of modules whose type, positioning, contents and media are drawn from the magazine database. The backend CMS was developed by LIGBE allowing the administrator to populate the magazine database with pages and the respective contents and modules. Although somewhat heavier than several off-the-shelf e-magazines, it allows the client to design and create multiple magazines without any Flash or programming expertise and has unlimited expansion capabilities just by adding new modules and templates to the system.]]>
The Active Presenter is a multimedia software package designed and implemented by The Smiling Hippo for Farmeco Advanced Dermoceuticals. The system has two main parts: The Administration and the Client Application. The Administration is situated on the company server and is a dynamic environment that allows the Marketing Department of the company to manage users, licensing, updating and customize the contents and the look of the Client Application. Each Client Application is installed on a laptop owned by sales representatives of the company who can connect to the Administration via network/internet or FTP and update their Client Application according to their user level, license and sales area by the use of an automated update module. This way all sales representatives always have updated material for their everyday appointments. The Client Application itself has many functions and allows the users to use it as a slide show or a presentation tool, with serial browsing capabilities (previous-next), a history browser (back-forward), based on a tree-like menu, shortcuts and bookmarks set by the user. In addition, it allows viewing in thumbnail or full-screen mode, printing options, uses of sounds and special "message" text for each slide.]]>
A side-project that was brought to us by Ligbe Studios, involving the creation of an interactive DVD for the Athens Technical University. In particular, the project involves the archiving of year-round curiculum in every shape and form (text documents, photo galleries, lecture notes, and student-teacher analysis papers) all compiled into one interactive DVD for students and libraries to use for educational purposes. In addition to the interface design and application development, we also designed the packaging and labeling of the DVD, making this a nice little all-around project that should make studying easier and more fun.]]>
The Interactive Sales DVD for BIET challenge was to create a "sales tool" as well as a means to display the company products for clients in exhibition areas. For both cases, the first need was to create a flexible and easily upgradeable database of all product images and information. The second need was to have a streaming projection of the company products in such a way that the clients browsing the exhibition could get an overall idea of the variety they have to choose from. The third need was to allow any sales representative to readily look up a product a client has shown interest in and begin the process of informing them with useful visual aids. To meet the clients needs we used Flash AS 2.0 technology and produced the Interactive Sales DVD for BIET that covers all the above and also allows the use of external music playlists as a soundtrack, if selected.]]>
